Welcome
to my page; though rather plain & simple it features the
little creatures who are a part of my life now and also the ones who have passed on.
As Jack Wright
("Kingston Cats") says, "animals were not put
on this earth to be euthanized or abused" and I agree. My
pets hold--and always have held--a very special place in my
heart. They are family.
My
Tabbercat was found on December 15, 1992, in the pump house of a
local factory.
Tabby's nickname is "Rat", he is quite a
spoiled little fellow & loves to have his picture taken. Tabby also likes to play fetch, especially with a scrunched-up pipe cleaner. He will bring it to us, drop it at our feet & sometimes even drop it in our lap, then he sits, staring at us, waiting for us to throw it for him.
Tabby will be celebrating his 16th birthday on October 21,
2008.
Next
we have Bailey (nickname "B".) A beautiful long
haired boy that we found outside our home on a cold February
morning in 1997. His cries drew us to him. Bailey thinks he's a dog (long story.)
Mikey-Pawz
followed not long after Bailey; I picked him up at a local pet
store in April of 1997; my birthday present to myself. Mikey likes to touch, always reaching out to us as we
walk by, hence the "Pawz." Mikey has many nicknames.
Pawz, Rotten Pawz, Stinky Pawz, Rotten Pawed Outfit, Mikester, Michaeladge Pawz, Rottenadge
Pawz...nicknames along those strange lines.
In the
fall of 1997 we adopted Bizzy (nickname
"Baby") from Pet Smart. Bizzy had been left in a dumpster behind a mall when he was only weeks old. He loves the camera; can you tell? He also loves to chew on me, especially my head when I'm sleeping and he's laying on the headboard. Who said any of our cats were normal?
This
little spaniel is Corky; she belonged to my parents. Corker was quite a spoiled outfit also.
Each morning she travelled to my brother's home for her
peanut-butter & toast. No road travelling, my brother
lives beside our parents.
Corky passed away on July 8, 2001, from cancer. My parents
buried her under the pines, where she loved to chase the
squirrels. We're missing her very much.
The
following are pets who were with me through the years. I miss
them dearly...
Dickens,
pictured here with my daughter. He was such a good boy, and a
rather big & strong boy. I remember him literally dragging
me across the snow covered lawn once, when I attempted to take
him for a walk.
Here
we have Lucky & Tabby; 1974.
My
Tabbercat is named after my farm Tabby cat here. Tabby and
Lucky got along so well, as you can see. If there were ever
two animals missed, these are the two.
Our
girls, Mitten (nickname "Kittaface") & Kirstie
(nickname "Kirsting").
Mitten was born on Christmas
Day 1990; Kirstie the following July.

Here
is Starsky (nickname "Star Baby") born in 1976.
Starsky was my shadow; where I went she went. Her stay was
very short, unfortunately; she was hit by a car in the fall of
1977. It was then, all too late, that I realized the
importance of keeping cats indoors or at least in a fenced
yard. Before she left us she gave us a real little pal,
Muffin, born June 23, 1977:
One of
Starsky's four kittens (we found good homes for the other
three) Muffin is the little fellow who was my very close
companion for 14 years.
I
often wonder if Tabbercat is Muffin re-incarnated, if there is
such a thing, because a 'cat with personality' is putting it
mildly. Muffin's nickname was "Pooh-Bear." Muffin
& Lucky became buddies also...so long as no one was
looking of course. I'd catch them sleeping together or playing
together, but soon as they saw me in sight, they pretended not
to like each other!
(My
cousin Rose painted this pic of Muffin!)
Rose also
painted Tabby for me when he was only a few months old:
"Cats
are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life."
A little guy we came across and eventually found a home for. We named him
Tigger.
Next we have three cats who we took in from the cold and later found homes for.

River Phoenix, named River for short:
Meet
"Boots" (nickname 'Booter Poop') now living the life of a king, indoors safe & warm. Boots spent the first couple years of his life outside enduring the elements
before being "adopted" by the family.
Boots
wants for nothing now.
Here is Lily,
abandoned at the lake in the fall of 2005. She'd had a collar on that was so tight it had worn off the fur around her neck.
Lily is a dear little thing who we found a caring home for where she could get the love and attention that she deserves.
